So you’re engaged – congratulations!
Now, for one of the most exciting parts: finding your wedding dress. We know the idea of a wedding dress shopping experience can feel a little daunting. Maybe you’re wondering where to even begin, or if you’ll find 'the one.' That’s totally normal, and trust us, we get it! Today we're going to cover the topic a little bit and help you get an understanding of what to expect when you visit us.
Your Wedding Dress Budget
All Who Wander
|
Before you even step into a bridal boutique, it’s helpful to have a general idea of your wedding dress budget. We’re not talking about a strict, penny-by-penny breakdown, but knowing your comfort zone for spending can really help your stylist narrow down options and avoid any awkward surprises. It’s okay if you’re not sure; we can chat about it during your call or once you arrive. Just remember, it’s not just the dress itself! Think about alterations, accessories (like a veil or special jewelry), and any cleaning or preservation costs. Having a ballpark figure lets us focus on gowns that are just right for you without any added stress. We're here to help you find something beautiful that fits your vision and your wallet.
To give you an idea of what to expect, our gowns are priced between $1500-$4000 with the majority between $1800-$2200. We also offer a collection of off the rack dresses that were once try on gowns that are priced $495-$1000. |
Your First Bridal Appointment: What to Expect
So, you’ve got your first bridal appointment booked, and maybe you're a little nervous – very normal! When you visit us at Relix Bridal, you’re walking into a relaxed, welcoming space. We’ll start by chatting about your wedding plans: where you’re getting married, the vibe you’re going for, and any ideas you have for your dress. You don’t need to have a Pinterest board full of specific gowns; sometimes just knowing what you don’t like is a great start! Your stylist will pull a selection of dresses based on our conversation and what you might be interested in. You’ll try them on, and we'll help you into each one. It’s all about seeing how different silhouettes and fabrics feel on you.
We'll send a questionnaire to you the week of your appointment with lots of details and will also send a lookbook for you to browse prior to you stepping foot in our door so you already have an idea of what you'll be seeing!

Finding Your Style
During your wedding dress shopping experience, you might find yourself gravitating towards styles you never expected. That’s totally common! Don’t be afraid to try on a wild card or two; sometimes the dress that surprises you is the one you end up loving. Your stylist will be there to offer guidance, suggest options, and help you articulate what you’re feeling about each dress. It’s less about finding a 'perfect' dress and more about finding a dress that makes you feel amazing, confident, and like yourself. When you put on the right dress, you’ll often just know. It’s a feeling – a mix of comfort, excitement, and just knowing this is it. We have a wide range of beautiful gowns in our bridal collection, and we’re confident you’ll find something special. Don’t overthink it; trust your gut feeling! |
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book my first bridal appointment?
We recommend starting your wedding dress shopping experience at least 6-10 months before your wedding date. This gives you plenty of time for your dress to arrive and for any necessary alterations to be completed without feeling rushed. If you’re on a shorter timeline, don’t worry! We also have an 'off the rack' collection that might be perfect for you, so it's always worth reaching out.
What should I bring to my bridal appointment?
For your first bridal appointment, it’s helpful to wear comfortable, nude-colored undergarments. If you have any specific shoes you’re considering for your wedding day (or ones with a similar heel height), bring those along! Other than that, just bring your excitement and an open mind. We’ll take care of the rest, ensuring your wedding dress shopping experience is seamless.
